Approximating Resonances with the Complex Absorbing Potential Method

We study the Complex Absorbing Potential (CAP) Method in computing quantum resonances of width −Im z h ≤ c h = O h , N 1. We show that up to an h−M √ c h + O h error, M 1, resonances are perturbed eigenvalues of the CAP Hamiltonian P h − iW , and vice versa, where W is the CAP with non-negative real part supported outside the trapping region. In some cases, the error terms are exponentially small.

Indus accelerator complex using bismuth fission detectors

This paper reports the measurement of high energy neutron component (E > 50 MeV) carried out at the Indus-1 (450 MeV) and Indus-2 (2.5 GeV) electron accelerators (RRCAT, Indore, India). The study is based on the registration of neutron induced fission fragments from bismuth radiators in the adjoint solid polymeric track detectors. These bismuth fission detector (BFD) stacks are exposed at the i...

State-to-state transition probabilities for time-dependent Hamiltonians using complex absorbing potentials

Abstract. Earlier work has derived a new expression for the time-independent scattering probability for time-dependent Hamiltonians for cases where the motion is free at infinitely large times. Here we introduce a new technique which provides an efficient numerical algorithm for the calculation of multiphoton event probabilities based on using complex absorbing potentials along the scattering c...

Time Reversed Absorbing Conditions

The aim of this paper is to introduce the time reversed absorbing conditions (TRAC) in time reversal methods. These new boundary conditions enable one to “recreate the past” without knowing the source which has emitted the signals that are back-propagated. This new method does not rely on any a priori knowledge of the physical properties of the inclusion. We prove an energy estimate for the res...
